SERVICE PLANS

What is a Service Plan?

A Service Plan allows customers to spread the cost of their servicing over a number of years, by paying a monthly direct debit. You can also pay for a Service Plan in full, should you wish to do so.

What are the benefits?

• Convenience of fixed, small, manageable monthly payments
• Inflation proof servicing for the duration of the plan – pay for tomorrow’s maintenance at today’s prices
• Removes large bills – The cost of the package eliminates maintenance budgeting worries
• The work is always performed by certified technicians
• Follows manufacturers servicing schedule
• Timely service reminders can be sent via e-mail or text to handheld devices*
• Only factory-authorised parts and fluids are used
• No cancellation, or plan transfer, fees.

What is included?

The cost covers the scheduled MG servicing, covering parts and labour. It excludes anything not listed in the servicing schedule.

DIGITAL SERVICES RECORD

It goes without saying that the main reason your MG is serviced, is to keep it in the best possible working order and to keep you safe on the road. Owners are also aware that a fully stamped service book is of great benefit in maximising the residual value of their MG. However, the traditional stamped service book can often be lost or misplaced, so owners can find it difficult to prove their vehicle’s service history and warranty information.

When you visit Gillanders Motors Ltd for a service, the details will be logged on our Digital Service Records system, meaning that you will be able to access the service history of your vehicle through the national database of MG dealers.

Having everything in one place means that your MG dealer will automatically know when your MG is due a service and they can notify you in advance. Plus, each time you have an MG service, you will be rewarded with free 12 months’ MG Assistance cover and a special edition MG Bear* – to say thank you for your custom.

*Your MG Dealer will need to enrol the completed service on the Digital Service Record system which will require your authorisation and agreement to the Terms & Conditions. 12 months MG Assistance is supplied by The AA and available for any MG model (excluding MG TF) first registered in the UK on or after 01.04.2011. Confirmation of MG Assistance cover will be sent within 28 days of Digital Service Record creation.

WARRANTY

All new MGs come with a comprehensive manufacturer warranty as standard, along with an extensive anti-perforation and paint warranty.

Our vehicles are designed to the highest standards and then rigorously tested to ensure that nothing should go wrong. In the unlikely event that something does go wrong with your MG, you have complete peace of mind with your warranty.

ALL MODELS - 7 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY (FROM 01.09.2019)

This policy applies to all MG3, MG ZS, MG ZS EV & MG HS.

NEW MG3 - 7 YEARS FACTORY WARRANTY (FROM 01.09.2018)

• MG3 18MY models covered for 7 years or up to 80,000 miles (whichever occurs soonest), no mileage restriction during the first 12 months (some restrictions apply). 

• Provides free of charge repair or replacement by an Authorised MG Repairer (restrictions may apply). 
• Guarantees paintwork repairs to defects occurring as a result of manufacturing or material defect for the first 3 years (conditions apply).
• Guarantees selected ‘wear and tear’ items that are subject to failure during the first 12 months of the Warranty period or prior to the first scheduled main service (restrictions apply). 
• Guarantees any genuine MG parts replaced under the terms of the warranty for the balance of the warranty period.

MG ZS - 7 YEARS FACTORY WARRANTY (FROM 01.11.2017)

• MG ZS – covered for 7 years or up to 80,000 miles(whichever occurs soonest), no mileage restriction during the first 12 months (some restrictions apply). 

• Provides free of charge repair or replacement by an Authorised MG Repairer (restrictions may apply). 
• Guarantees paintwork repairs to defects occurring as a result of manufacturing or material defect for the first 3 years (conditions apply).
• Guarantees selected ‘wear and tear’ items that are subject to failure during the first 12 months of the Warranty period or prior to the first scheduled main service (restrictions apply). 
• Guarantees any genuine MG parts replaced under the terms of the warranty for the balance of the warranty period.

MG3 - 5 YEARS FACTORY WARRANTY (FROM 02.01.2018)

• MG3 registered on or after 02/01/2018 – covered for 5 years or up to 60,000 miles (whichever occurs soonest), no mileage restriction during the first 12 months (some restrictions apply). 

• Provides free of charge repair or replacement by an Authorised MG Repairer (restrictions may apply). 
• Guarantees paintwork repairs to defects occurring as a result of manufacturing or material defect for the first 3 years (conditions apply).
• Guarantees selected ‘wear and tear’ items that are subject to failure during the first 12 months of the Warranty period or prior to the first scheduled main service (restrictions apply).
• Guarantees any genuine MG parts replaced under the terms of the warranty for the balance of the warranty period.

MG GS 5 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY AND MG3 & MG6 3 YEAR FACTORY WARRANTY (FROM 01.07.2016)

• MG GS – covered for 5 years or up to 80,000 miles(whichever occurs soonest), no mileage restriction during the first 12 months (some restrictions apply).

• MG3 and MG6 – covered for 3 years or up to 60,000 miles (whichever occurs soonest), no mileage restriction during the first 12 months.
• Provides free of charge repair or replacement by an Authorised MG Repairer (restrictions may apply). 
• Guarantees paintwork repairs to defects occurring as a result of manufacturing or material defect for the first 3 years (conditions apply).
• Guarantees selected ‘wear and tear’ items that are subject to failure during the first 12 months of the Warranty period or prior to the first scheduled main service (restrictions apply).
• Guarantees any genuine MG parts replaced under the terms of the warranty for the balance of the warranty period.

ANTI-PERFORATION WARRANTY

MG Warrants the metal body panels of your new MG car against perforation due to corrosion, which is the direct result of defects in material or manufacturing process.

Perforation is defined as corrosion or rusting through of a body panel on the vehicle from the inner surface, to the outer surface (resulting in a hole).

A 7 years anti-perforation warranty applies to the MG ZS from the date of registration.

The MG GS, MG3 and MG6 all carry a 6 years anti-perforation warranty from the date of registration.

For the warranty period to remain valid it is required that you have your vehicle inspected every 12 months for the duration of the anti-perforation warranty by an MG Dealer and documented. The dealer may charge for this service.

In the unlikely event your car is effected by perforation as described above, then an MG Authorised Dealer/Repairer will replace or repair the effected panel free of charge.

In some instances, your MG will not be covered these include, but are not limited to;

Perforation due to corrosion as a result of; an accident, damage, modification, abuse, industrial fallout, or carrying corrosive or damaging materials, or external influences.

Perforation due to corrosion caused by the use of non-genuine MG parts, or parts not approved by MG, including used parts.

Perforation due to corrosion resulting from a lack of maintenance, as described in the owner’s manual, misuse or abuse.

An incomplete annual inspection record.

SEASONAL OFFERS

So for only £24.99, Gillanders trusty trained technician will inspect your car over, from lights and fluid levels, to battery and tyre checks with our new Summer Check.  

And when they’re done, they will wash the car and vacuum the interior, and provide you with a courtesy Beach bag gift packed with all the essentials for Summer.

That way, when you head to the beach with your friends, or pack up the kids for a summer holiday outing, the only thing you have to worry about is – who’s in control of the playlist?
