I had an issue with my Insignia and it went into ‘limp mode’ up North of Aberdeen – 350 plus miles from home! I tried several garages but everyone was busy including Gillanders but Derek kindly said they would take a look at it. Derek also kindly gave us a lift – giving us a brief tour of the town and dropped us off at the Prison Museum in Peterhead – well worth a visit! Just finished the museum tour when I received a call saying my car was fixed and my lift back to the garage was on its way! Car was even cleaned! Picked up my Kia Stonic tonight. Can only say positive things about Chris who sold me my car, an absolute fist class service, never known such a helpful sales man. Nothing was too much for him in relation to the help and assistance he gave. 10 out of 10…..was thinking of only giving him 9 since I missed seeing the show room dog of the day Fergus. Superb service from brilliant staff. We went to look for a new (used) car and visited the usual places, Arnold Clark, Peter Vardy etc. After several visits where we were either harassed endlessly or ignored entirely, we found Gillanders in Peterhead.

We live in Aberdeen so this was not our local dealer but the new AWPR made for a much quicker run than expected.

What a difference. We were greeted warmly by the staff, left to have a look around and when we needed assistance, we got it. There were no pushy salesmen, no hidden numbers and no hassle.

When we test drove the car we did so alone, which made a great impression on us both, and then provided with as many sets of figures as we requested. When we asked to go away and think about things there was no resistance or attempt to convince us to buy there and then.

The next day we called back to finalise some details and a week later we collected our new car. Everyone we saw made us feel at home and the whole experience left us wondering why all garages can’t do the same?

Thank you to Alan, Mark (and Louie the spaniel!!) and all of the staff and take note big companies, this is how it should be done!!!

Staff were extremely helpful just came to look but was invited inside and shown the cars and offered a test drive they could not do enough for you I liked the package offered the only way I did not give them a ten was because I had to wait a wee bit longer for the car but it was not their fault really.

The salesman Alan Joyner was great, it was raining when myself and my daughter came past the garage and was looking at the cars on the forecourt Alan saw us and came outside with an umbrella and invited us in to see the range told us about the range of cars he had and said I could have a test drive whenever I wanted one.

He was so friendly he was there when I took them up on their offer and test drove the car I then ordered the car and Alan was the one who explained some of the controls when I picked it up Alan and Mark the manager said I could come in past or phone if I have any problems or want anything explained. ”
